About

Hello. We hope that this blog will convey our experience at this "winternship" and garner interest in the crucial work that the good people at Conserve Lake County do year round. This excited team of winter interns hope to literally and figuratively build a better Conserve Lake County in its transitional phase.

We are Alyssa, Allison, John, and Connor.

Alyssa is a sophomore English and Spanish major at Hendrix College. As someone who appreciates the beauty and other aspects of our wildlife and landscapes, conservation is part of her life. Bull Creek runs through her neighborhood and her family has done some work on the portion running through the woods in their backyard, cleaning out debris and taking steps to combat erosion. She enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and riding her bike.

Allison is a senior at University of Wisconsin-Platteville studying biology.  Throughout her college career, she has learned about the importance of conservation. As an animal lover, conservation has become one of her most important interests due to the influence it has on wildlife. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, reading and spending time with friends and family.

John will be graduating with a degree in English at the College of Lake County this spring. He will be moving on to a university the following fall. From his environmental biology class at the College of Lake County, his environmental passions stem from how it is vital to be sustainable in all things worth having. Moreover, he enjoys watching, reading and talking about the news, making puns and talking with people.

And Conor is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. As an environmental Management major this internship is really putting him on track for what he wants to do when he graduates. Other than trying to protect and conserve nature his interests involve hiking, camping and backpacking. nature is a big part of his life and he wants to have a nice place left to take his kids camping one day.
